Schedule & Work Location

• Full-time position
• Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed
• Ability to work at both East and West El Paso locations

Position Overview:

University Vision Centre is seeking a Contact Lens Coordinator / Specialist to manage and support all aspects of the contact lens department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys patient interaction, organization, and ensuring a seamless experience from contact lens fitting to ordering and follow-up care.
You will serve as a key point of contact for patients and providers, helping ensure accurate prescriptions, proper training, and timely order fulfillment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate contact lens fittings, follow-ups, and patient communication
• Educate patients on proper insertion, removal, and care of contact lenses
• Assist patients in selecting appropriate contact lens options based on prescriptions and lifestyle
• Process and manage contact lens orders, inventory, and vendor relationships
• Verify insurance benefits related to contact lenses (VSP, EyeMed, etc.)
• Track and follow up on patient orders and ensure timely delivery
• Maintain accurate patient records and prescriptions in the system
• Work closely with doctors and clinical staff to ensure proper patient care
• Troubleshoot patient concerns related to contact lenses

 

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an optometry or optical setting preferred
• Experience with contact lenses, optical sales, or patient education is a plus
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable learning and using practice management and ordering systems
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
