Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay Structure: Paid per project
• Entry-Level Installer: Equivalent to $30–$40/hour based on completing 2 jobs/day
• Roof Lead Installer: Equivalent to $30–$60/hour based on crew leadership and job completion
• W-2 Employment
• 7 Paid Holidays Off Annually
• Long-term project duration: 3–7 years of consistent solar installation work

 

Position Overview:

Preferred Co. is hiring Solar Installers for a major solar project in The Villages near Orlando, Florida. Whether you're just starting out or have experience leading crews, this is an opportunity to grow your skills while earning strong, consistent pay.

Entry-level positions require no prior experience, and Roof Lead positions require leadership skills and rooftop experience. All roles involve working outdoors, at heights, and as part of a productive team focused on quality and safety.

 

Available Roles:

• Entry-Level Installer – No experience required; training provided.
• Roof Lead Installer – Must have prior experience running a crew on rooftops.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Install solar panels, racking systems, and associated hardware on residential rooftops
• Work safely at heights and lift up to 50 lbs overhead
• Maintain accurate glove counts and scrap weighing (where applicable)
• Keep a clean and organized job site
• Follow schedule and report progress to project supervisors
• Roof Leads: Manage rooftop crews, ensure quality and safety, and lead installs efficiently

 

Qualifications:

Entry-Level Installer:

• Physically able to lift 50 lbs and perform rooftop work
• Willing to work outdoors in various conditions
• Comfortable with heights and safety protocols
• Reliable transportation to job sites in The Villages

Roof Lead Installer:

• Previous experience installing solar or leading roofing crews
• Proven ability to manage team workflow and site safety
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Ability to work at heights and perform physical labor
