Java Developer III Contract to Hire - Nationwide

Location: Remote (Work from home) or in-office at Atlanta, GA or Dallas, TX

Position Overview:
ConnexPay is seeking a Senior Java Developer contractor to join our high-performing engineering team. This individual will work in an agile, collaborative environment to develop a cutting-edge, multi-tenant, cloud-based payments platform. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced in building scalable enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and deploy large-scale payment applications and services
• Collaborate with on-site and remote Agile teams
• Support and maintain robust payment systems
• Optimize real-time processes for high performance
• Participate in daily scrums, code reviews, and team discussions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years Java (8+) enterprise application development experience
• Deep knowledge of scalable system design
• Proficiency in Spring Framework 4.x and Spring Boot 2.x+ (3.x preferred)
• Experience with relational databases: PostgreSQL (v16+ preferred), MS SQL, Oracle
• Familiar with Maven, TeamCity, Git, and source control best practices
• Solid understanding of multithreading, JDBC, object pooling, caching, scheduling
• Knowledge of Hibernate, Junit, JaCoCo, Rest Assured is a plus
• Familiarity with financial services or payments systems is a plus
• Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) a plus
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cryptography a plus
