Manufacturing Operations Engineer

The Manufacturing Operations engineer is a critical support role to our production supervisors focused on improving operational efficiency, ensuring schedule adherence, tracking parts and processes, supporting quality assurance, and driving quality initiatives—freeing up supervisors to focus more on direct, hands-on production leadership. This role will be working on the production floor and will be responsible for ensuring production stays on schedule and proactively addresses any issues as they arise.

Job Duties: 

  • Champions safety procedures and adheres to them strictly.

  • Schedule Adherence & Production Support

    • Monitor production schedules and ensure teams are hitting their targets.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that affect timely production.

  • Part & Material Tracking

    • Track part flow through the manufacturing process ensuring quality and accuracy of components. 

    • Ensure components are available and aligned with production needs.

  • Quality Assurance 

    • Collaborates with the Quality team to ensure processes meet internal and customer standards.

    • Help investigate and resolve quality issues and communicates proactively with other Engineers.

  • Training & Documentation

    • Maintain work instructions, process documentation, and SOPs.

    • Proactively addresses gaps in documentation.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Act as a bridge between engineering, production, and quality departments.

    • Provide regular updates to leadership and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Process Improvement & Efficiency

    • Identify and implement improvements to reduce waste and increase throughput.

    • Analyze production bottlenecks and recommend solutions.

    • Work closely with supervisors to streamline daily operations.

    • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience in a manufacturing leadership or engineering support role

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems a plus
