Associate Creative Designer

Location: Detroit, MI

Employment Type: 1-Year Contract (Potential to Convert to Full-Time)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Primarily in-office, with occasional on-site travel

About the Role:

We’re seeking a flexible and forward-thinking Associate Creative Designer to join our collaborative team. This exciting role goes beyond traditional design, blending creative execution with coordination, logistics, and presentation tasks that support ongoing business development and innovation efforts. The ideal candidate is adaptable, eager to grow, and thrives in fast-paced environments.This position offers a unique opportunity to evolve beyond typical design duties and take part in high-impact cross-functional projects, from CMF (Color, Material, Finish) development to marketing and visual storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create high-quality design artwork, CG renderings, and design concepts aligned with market trends
• Coordinate cross-functional projects involving design, logistics, and customer communication
• Develop and support CMF strategies for decorative and functional film applications
• Design and deliver presentations for internal stakeholders and external customers
• Maintain and manage the CMF sample library and catalog (physical and digital)
• Collaborate with business development teams on marketing and graphic assets
• Track project timelines and deliverables, ensuring alignment with creative goals
• Research emerging trends and incorporate insights into innovative design solutions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Fine Arts, CMF Design, or related field
• 2+ years of design experience, preferably in CMF or industrial design
• Strong visual storytelling and communication skills, with a design thinking approach
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Experience with 3D  and AI tools such as Blender, SolidWorks, KeyShot, or Midjourney
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/365
• Strong sketching, rendering, and CAD modeling skills
• Familiarity with manufacturing and production processes is a plus
• High color acuity and sharp attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with fast turnaround
