Compensation: $60k-$75k annually, DOE

Job Overview:

Vivant is seeking a skilled and experienced Low Voltage Field Technician with expereince in Telecom to join our growing team.

This role involves on-site installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecom and networking equipment across diverse commercial client locations.

Candidates must be adaptable, punctual, and able to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while ensuring high-quality service and client satisfaction.

This is a field-based role where you will spend the majority of your time at client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install & Maintain Telecommunications Equipment:
    • Install and configure VoIP phone systems, network switches, routers, access points, and security devices.
    • Perform rack and stack installations in MDF and IDF environments.
    • Pull and terminate structured cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, coax, and fiber.
  • On-Site Field Work:
    • Travel to client job sites across various locations.
    • Adhere to strict project schedules and hard start times.
    • Communicate effectively with remote network operations centers to troubleshoot and complete tasks.
  • Customer Service & Documentation:
    • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
    • Ensure all required tools and equipment are available for each job.
    • Submit accurate job site paperwork and updates.
  • Collaboration & Problem-Solving:
    • Work closely with the support team to ensure successful installations.
    • Follow SOPs and apply creative solutions when troubleshooting.
    • Ensure client issues are fully resolved before completing the job.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum 3 years of low-voltage field experience in network and telecom installations.
  • Strong understanding of WAN/LAN/VPN networking, routers, and switches.
  • Proficiency with Windows OS and the ability to configure static IPs.
  • Familiarity with MPOEs, Dmarcs, circuit extensions, and 66 punch-down blocks.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

 

Tools & Equipment (Required):

  • Crimpers, toners, screwdrivers, drills, laptops, punch-down tools, push poles, digital multi-meters, label makers, and ladders.

 

Work Schedule:

  • General Hours:  Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, with flexibility for extended hours as needed.
  • Travel Requirement:  50%+ travel, including out-of-state travel and overnight stays.

 

Experience Required:

  • VoIP Installation: 2+ years
  • Low-Voltage Installations: 3+ years
  • Telecommunications & Networking: Strong foundational knowledge
