Quality Engineer Bi-lingual Korean and English

 

Location: Chicago Head Office

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Occasional evening and weekend work required as job duties demand.

Reports to: Vice President, Engineering

Job Description:

We are seeking a Quality Engineer who is bilingual in Korean and English to join our team at Nissha USA, Inc. This role involves providing engineering services, troubleshooting, and contributing to customer satisfaction through quality management, while working with global teams and customers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering Work ExecutionUnderstand customer’s design intent, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain challenges.
    • Provide engineering value propositions, including DMF, feasibility study, mold flow analysis, and counter proposals for customer issues.
    • Coordinate engineering discussions and create consensus with customers and internal teams.
    • Request and receive engineering support from Nissha Group globally as needed.
    • Provide engineering support for ramp-up and troubleshooting at customer sites.
  2. Customer Satisfaction & Business Development
    • Visit and develop relationships with customers, including OEMs, integrators, molders, and other key partners.
    • Present Nissha’s technology and processes to customers.
    • Understand Nissha’s pricing structure, lead times, and production capacity.
    • Make engineering presentations and negotiate solutions to customer problems.
    • Facilitate communication with teams in Japan, China, Europe, and other regions.
  3. Program Management in the U.S.
    • Support Sales, Engineering, and Quality departments to accommodate customer needs.
    • Assess technical quality issues and communicate product defects to customers.
    • Clarify responsibilities between Nissha and customers in response to defects.
  4. Technology Research
    • Monitor industry competition and use strategies for competitive advantage.
    • Attend industry seminars and analyze publications and reports.
  5. Additional Responsibilities
    • Execute corporate strategy and business plans.
    • Drive continual improvement and maintain a positive working environment.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Technical Skills
    • Over 3 years of experience in tooling design or parts design (Injection or thermal forming ).
    • Knowledge of CAE, including 2D & 3D CAD modeling, mold flow analysis, and documentation.
    • Familiarity with injection molding, tooling, in-mold decoration, forming, printing, plating, stamping, and assembly.
  2. Language Skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both Korean and English (written and verbal).
    • Able to deliver presentations and write reports, business correspondence, and manuals in both languages.
  3. Mathematical & Computer Skills
    • Ability to perform calculations (e.g., percentages, volume, and area).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)
  4. Reasoning & Problem Solving
    • Ability to analyze issues with multiple variables and deliver practical solutions.
  5. Other Skills
    • Supervisory and management experience.
    • Ability to maintain professional conduct and contribute to team morale and respect.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college/university.
  • At least five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Work Environment

  • Professional office environment, with occasional travel to customer sites (e.g., Japan, Canada, Mexico, Brazil).
  • Some physical demands such as lifting up to 20 pounds and occasional factory tours.
  • Valid State driver’s license required.

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Full-time position with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work as necessary.
