Industry Leader in Benefit Solutions, Boon, is Seeking an Account Manager to join their Employee Benefits Client Service Team!

Role Type: Full-time with benefits

Compensation: $67,000 to $78,500 annual salary depending on relevant experience plus bonus potential

Location: Hybrid In-office/Remote opportunity. The office is located at 6300 Bridge Point Pkwy Bldg. 3, Ste. 200, Austin, TX 78730.

Account Manager Role Overview:

The Account Manager provides the day-to-day management and client service support for their assigned book of roughly 30 to 40 accounts. They will serve multiple clients with various employee benefits needs and act as a liaison between the clients, brokers, vendors, and internal Company resources and departments. Will lead and consult during annual renewal to present and structure the best service agreements to meet each client’s unique needs. They serve as a subject matter expert on the Services Contract Act and the Davis Bacon Act and other health insurance and compliance arenas.

 

Account Manager Day-to-Day: 

  • Act as client’s advocate and the main point of contact 
  • Liaise with internal departments and decision-makers
  • Develop and nurture relationships with clients, including renewals and growing their assigned book of business
  • Keeps client informed of all day-to-day changes, billing or enrollment issues, compliance information, etc.
  • Ensures accurate and timely servicing of accounts
  • Stays abreast of current news, legislation, technologies, and trends in the employee benefits industry 
  • Drives renewal process from beginning to end including reporting, quote request submission, & coordination with internal departments 
  • Develop expertise on legislation pertaining to government contracting
  • Assists in the open enrollment process and all activities with the client, vendors, and internal departments
  • Travel to client offices on a regular basis 
  • Follow the company policies and procedures required to comply with applicable data privacy and confidentiality requirements, including but not limited to SOC controls, and HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations.
  • Constant strive for growth for current book are integral to bringing in new accounts for the Company as well as maintaining positive relationships with existing clients and growing those accounts

 

Account Manager Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of account management related experience
  • General knowledge of employee benefit plans or or prior benefits industry experience is a plus
  • Comfortable uncovering new needs and offering new product solutions as fit for the client (light consultative sales)
  • Processional acumen with a strong preference for candidates that have been in a customer-facing role prior
  • State Life and Health (Group 1) insurance license a plus (must be eligible for licensing within first 90 days of employment)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) 
  • Salesforce experience preferred
  • Willing to travel to client offices across the country (roughly 5-10% travel or 2-3 consecutive days every two months)
