Role Type: Full-time with benefits

Compensation:  $45,000 - $52,000 annually depending on experience

Location: 6300 Bridge Point Pkwy Bldg. 3, Ste. 200, Austin, TX 78730. Fully remote after training with 1-2 required in-office meetings per month.

Benefits Operations Implementation Coordinator Role:

The Benefit Operations Implementation Coordinator oversees the implementation of new clients ensuring carrier and administrative requirements are met.  This role works closely with internal departments, external clients, and carrier/vendors during the implementation process.  The Implementation Coordinator is also responsible for managing renewals and provides support to the Benefit Operations team, specifically the ASO division, in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department. This role will be 75% implementation and 25% administrative support and works under limited supervision and exercises discretion and independent judgment. 

 

Benefits Operations Implementation Coordinator Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related experience
  • 2+ years prior experience in employee benefits, benefits administration, or a related area
  • 2+ years prior experience in project management preferred
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple projects/assignments simultaneously and completing assigned tasks accurately and on time 

 

Benefits Operations Account Administrator Licenses/Certifications:

  • Health and Life (Group 1) insurance license preferred but not required; must be eligible for licensing within first 90 days of employment

 

Benefits Operations Account Administrator Physical Demands:

The Right Person for the Job has:

  • Ability to be client-facing, ask thoughtful questions, and successfully push a new client implementation through on time and in budget (successful project management and onboarding skills)
  • Knowledge of all areas of employee benefit plans, health insurance, life, L&D, 401, etc. preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of industry regulatory and compliance requirements (SCA, DBA, and CBA administration) 
  • Expert MS Office skills including Excel, Word, Visio and Outlook are required
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to capture, review and analyze data
  • Ability to be detail-oriented and to meet aggressive deadlines

 

Benefits Operations Account Administrator Day-to-Day: 

  • Manages implementation of new ASO groups post sale to inception, also manages annual renewals
  • Implements processes, project plans and process flow templates for new and existing clients
  • Facilitates internal and external client meetings which includes agenda preparation, meeting minutes and ownership of follow-up items 
  • Documents plan requirements, ensures accurate implementation of plan, and services including all legal documentation and fulfillment requirements 
  • Creates, distributes and manages project schedules and timelines
  • Establishes new group setup with various insurance carriers and within the chosen eligibility system of record
  • Resolves escalated and complex employee and client issues during the implementation or renewal phase
  • Create and maintain effective and positive communication with carrier and broker partners 
  • Supports internal sales, proposals and administration staff when necessary including occasional travel
  • Conducts complex audits consisting of large data sets in various formats
  • Prepares and processes fringe reconciliations, retro benefit payment adjustments, and payment remittance  
  • Performs other duties as assigned
