Account Specialist
Industry Leader in Benefit Solutions is Seeking an Account Specialist!
Compensation: $45K - $50K, based on experience.
The Boon Group, Inc., an AssuredPartners subsidiary, is in need of an Account Specialist.
Account Specialist Role:
The Account Specialist provides account administration support to assigned clients and to the Benefit Ops department. They are responsible for a variety of administrative and account reconciliation duties and provide back-up to the Account Administrators. They work under direct supervision and instruction.
Account Specialist Education & Experience:
- High school diploma, some college preferred
- 2 to 3 years of benefits administration experience
- 1 year of experience in reconciling benefit invoices, fringe accounting and/or
- accounting/bookkeeping required
- Experience working with Excel spreadsheets
- Experience with benefit or payroll databases
Licenses/Certifications: None
Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods; Repetitive motions Little physical effort

- Knowledge of employee benefit plans and administration
- Experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
- Basic accounting knowledge and skills

- Ability to work under pressure at times to meet deadlines
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Account Specialist Day-to-Day:
- Receives and processes contributions for assigned clients
- Allocates client contributions and member benefit deductions to client specific business rules including hour bank administration and timely refunds
- Prepares various reports for assigned clients
- Reviews claims account balances and submits check requests to accounting to fund account
- Reconciles eligibility and premium accounts on a monthly basis
- Ensures the accurate and timely completion of enrollments, status changes, and terminations of plan participants are made in both Company, client and vendor systems
- Researches enrollment, claims and other issues for resolution
- Provides a high level customer service through phone calls/emails in a timely and professional manner
- Assists with department overflow and works overtime as needed based on client and business needs
- Ability to audit reporting and files produced both internally and externally with little of no margin of error
- Works under pressure at times to meet deadlines
- Performs other duties as assigned
