Shipping / Receiving Clerk:

If so, as a shipping / receiving clerk  for BT Furnishings, you will utilize hard work and a helpful attitude to serve our clients and employees with the more physically demanding roles of a furniture business.  We are a family-owned and operated company with a relaxed atmosphere focused on making a difference in the lives of our customers and employees.  We are looking for dedicated, quality-driven team members to help us as we grow.

As our shipping / receiving clerk, specifically, you will…

  • Process freight and incoming merchandise using WMS/POS/RF system
  • Confirming receipt of all merchandise
  • Submitting receipt documentation in a timely manner to AP for processing
  • Verifying movement of product into the correct home and/or staging location
  • Responsible for scheduling shipments or transfers to other stores/warehouses
  • Must communicate between stores, warehouse, and support staff company wide in order to resolve any receipt/transfer issuesAdhere to safety requirements of the store and minimize hazards
  • Responsible for learning inventory locations and product information as it relates to the warehouse.
  • Assist sales team with any loading and unloading of merchandise for customers
  • Assist in maintenance and cleanliness of the facility
  • Assist in maintaining visual presentation of products on sales floor
  • Warehouse loading/unloading and organization
  • Assembly, repair, and delivery of merchandise
  • Perform any other related duties required by management

Shipping / Receiving Clerk Qualifications:

  • Read, write, and perform basic arithmetic
  • Minimum 1 year experience with clerical, adn filing work
  • Minimum 1 year experience in inventory receiving and administration
  • Minimum 6 months experience in warehouse data entry/bookkeeping
  • Furniture assembly experience or knowledge in use of tools preferred
  • Excellent customer service knowledge
  • Ability to work safely in a customer-focused, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly detailed
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting, but have the ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision at times
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize and multi-task in a customer focused, fast paced environment
  • Responsible and trustworthy character
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Ability to adapt to change and propose unique solutions to unique problems
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings
  • Bilingual preferred

Compensation: $14/hr to $15/hr
