Position: Remediation Site Manager
Location: Fort Mill, South Carolina (SC)

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour

Role Overview:

The Remediation Site Manager is responsible for leading crews of Operators and Technicians to install Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) systems, perform excavation and soil mixing projects, and deliver exceptional service to clients in the environmental industry.

Remediation Site Manager Responsibilities:

• Provide labor and mechanical support to remediation crews
• Lead and mentor Operators and Technicians
• Maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
• Safely operate construction equipment and vehicles on high-traffic sites
• Install erosion and sediment control materials
• Ensure all safety, compliance, and quality regulations are followed
• Coordinate with the Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, and Fleet Director to ensure DOT and OSHA compliance
• Work closely with the Project Manager to procure materials and provide feedback on equipment, rentals, and bidding strategies
• Conduct site walks for bid opportunities
• Complete daily reports, safety tailgate meetings, and project documentation
• Interpret and implement engineer-provided blueprints and specifications
• Foster a culture of respect, accountability, and continuous improvement

 

Remediation Site Manager Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Construction, environmental construction/remediation, drilling, or related experience
• Training and hands-on experience in trenching, sloping, and soil excavation
• Site Manager Experience:
  • 10+ years of construction and site management experience
  • Extensive experience operating 100,000 lb+ tracked equipment, including excavators and grading equipment
• Preferred experience with micro- and macro-piling equipment
• Experience implementing Health & Safety programs
• Strong client-facing communication skills

 

Additional Desired Skills:

• Strong safety compliance mindset
• Proven leadership on prior projects
• Change order and documentation management experience
• Clear and effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• TWIC card and CDL (preferred, not required)
• Safety training preferred (Summit will provide training as needed), including:
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER
  • Competent Person Safety Training
  • 8-Hour Supervisory Training
  • 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training
  • First Aid and CPR
• Heavy equipment operation experience strongly preferred for Site Manager roles

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role may require lifting up to 50 pounds when mechanical assistance is unavailable, extended standing or walking on project sites, climbing in and out of equipment, and working in confined spaces or at heights. Work conditions may involve exposure to heavy machinery, chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and extreme weather.

Appropriate PPE—including protective eyewear, gloves, hard hats, and steel-toed boots—is provided. Strict adherence to safety protocols and effective communication are essential.
