Position Overview:

ConnexPay is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its innovative and high-impact team. This role is key to developing production-grade machine learning models and data pipelines within Databricks, focusing on solutions that optimize decision-making and enhance fraud detection within the B2B payments industry.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in machine learning and data engineering, along with hands-on experience in fraud analytics or payment systems. You'll collaborate across the business to prototype, deploy, and maintain ML-powered tools and insights that support real-time decisions and operational efficiency. This is a fully remote opportunity or can be based in our Atlanta or Dallas offices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, deploy, and maintain ML models and pipelines in Databricks, including full lifecycle tasks from research to monitoring
• Partner with business stakeholders to answer strategic questions using statistical modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics
• Build and iterate on AI-powered internal tools that support automation and decision-making
• Research and test new ML methodologies to enhance existing products and processes
• Integrate and leverage third-party data sources (LexisNexis, Experian, Equifax) to enrich models
• Present complex technical findings in clear, actionable ways to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Manage multiple projects independently while collaborating in cross-functional teams

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
• 5–10+ years in a data-focused environment (analysis, engineering, or science roles)
• Strong experience in machine learning deployment in production environments
• Expertise in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and data pipeline orchestration
• Experience with external data vendors such as LexisNexis, Experian, Equifax
• Knowledge of B2B payments, fraud detection, or risk modeling is strongly preferred
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong business acumen and ability to align data science solutions with business goals
