Compensation: Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 depending on experience.

Travel: Occasional travel.

Fuel System Estimator Job Summary:

The Fuel System Estimator at Acterra Group plays a critical role in the accurate and efficient estimation of projects, specifically focusing on the construction and installation of above-ground fuel tanks. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of construction industry standards, with a particular emphasis on mechanical and/or fuels construction. As a Fuel System Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in preparing precise and detailed cost estimates for fuel construction projects. Your expertise will be crucial in securing and executing successful projects. This role demands comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, construction processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Fuel System Estimator Duties / Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough and detailed estimations for fuel tank and repair projects, ensuring compliance with PEI, API, UFGS and UFC standards.
• Utilize estimating software to prepare accurate and competitive project bids.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates.
• Review and evaluate cost estimates, ensuring they accurately reflect the scope, timeline, and materials required for the project.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and cost fluctuations to ensure up-to-date and accurate estimations.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations of estimates for review by senior management and clients.
• Assist in the negotiation and finalization of contracts based on estimated costs.
• Work closely with procurement and construction teams to monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary.

Fuel System Estimator Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in estimating fuel tank systems, mechanical piping, or similar projects.
• Associate’s degree in construction management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related field – or equivalent experience.
• Certifications such as CPE (Certified Professional Estimator) or PMP are a plus.
• Experience in construction estimating, with a focus on mechanical piping projects, fuel tank projects or similar installations.
• Familiarity with construction industry standards, particularly PEI guidelines for fuel tank systems, are beneficial.
