Position Overview

Herbert Roofing is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Attendant to support our roofing operations in Saginaw. This role is essential for ensuring timely access to materials, safe organization of inventory, and the efficient dispatch of tools and supplies to job sites. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, safety-focused, and have strong organizational skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate records of roofing materials, tools, and supplies
• Conduct routine inventory checks and report stock discrepancies
• Organize materials for efficient storage and retrieval

Material Handling & Organization

• Receive, inspect, and store materials safely
• Organize roofing supplies by type and project needs
• Ensure items are stored securely to avoid damage

Order Fulfillment & Dispatching

• Prepare and pack materials for delivery to job sites
• Coordinate with drivers to ensure accurate and timely dispatch
• Load materials securely for transportation

Safety & Cleanliness

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse
• Follow warehouse safety procedures and standards
• Properly store all items to prevent accidents or injuries

Equipment Maintenance

• Maintain warehouse tools and equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)
• Report any issues for timely repairs or replacements

Fleet & Equipment Support

• Assist with preparing company vehicles and equipment for fieldwork
• Ensure proper tools and materials are loaded for each job

Record Keeping

• Track incoming/outgoing materials and update inventory systems
• Generate and submit regular inventory and usage reports

 

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous warehouse or inventory experience preferred, especially in construction or roofing
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• Knowledge: Familiarity with roofing materials is a plus

• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Safety: Commitment to a safe work environment

License/Certification: Valid driver’s license required; forklift certification a plus

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
