Green Gables Marina is a premier waterfront destination committed to providing exceptional service to boaters and outdoor enthusiasts. We offer a range of services, including boat storage, shrink-wrapping, fuel sales, and more. We are seeking a Harbor Manager to oversee daily operations, lead our team, and ensure an outstanding customer experience.
Position Overview:
The Harbor Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of marina operations, including staff supervision, customer service, financial management, and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience in both business management and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Staff Management
- Oversee daily marina operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Recruit, train, and manage staff, ensuring high levels of customer engagement.
- Schedule employees and assign tasks to maintain productivity and service quality.
- Supervise dockhands, office personnel, and maintenance staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
Customer Service & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, delivering an exceptional experience.
- Handle inquiries, reservations, and customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Manage phone, email, and in-person communications to maintain strong customer relationships.
- Resolve issues promptly with a focus on satisfaction and retention.
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Manage marina finances, including budgeting, revenue tracking, and expense management.
- Utilize QuickBooks and POS systems for transactions, invoicing, and reporting.
- Track payments, process invoices, and manage payroll as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels for marina supplies and fuel sales.
- Maintain accurate records for boat storage, rentals, and customer accounts.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability
- Address and resolve operational challenges as they arise.
- Adapt to changing weather conditions, staffing needs, and customer demands.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2+ years of management experience in a customer-facing role (marina, hospitality, retail, or similar industry preferred).
- Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and POS systems (or a willingness to learn).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of boating and marina operations is a plus but not required.
