Sales and Service Operations Manager – Engineering

 

Compensation: $135K - $150K plus bonus opportunities

Location: Seeking candidates who reside in Florida

Job Type: Full-time, salaried with robust benefits package

 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Sales and Service Operations Manager to lead engineering services, field operations, and business development efforts across our industrial services division. This position plays a pivotal role in managing projects, leading technical staff, and cultivating client relationships in industrial and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of engineering knowledge, operations management, and client development experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership

  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction for engineering and service projects.
  • Oversee project scoping, estimating, scheduling, resource allocation, and cost controls.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality and timeline standards.
  • Lead post-project evaluations and implement improvements.
  • Enforce engineering best practices, conduct regular project audits.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and manage field teams, technical staff, and contractors.
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and performance management of engineering personnel.
  • Develop internal talent through mentorship, ongoing feedback, and formal reviews.
  • Maximize team utilization and operational efficiency.

Business Development & Client Success

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for pre-sales and customer-facing efforts.
  • Support proposal development, costing, and solution design.
  • Cultivate relationships with regional clients, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Provide monthly financial reporting and forecasting for leadership.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and local industry events.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Growth

  • Drive efficiency improvements across engineering operations.
  • Implement new tools, methodologies, and processes for team success.
  • Proactively identify new service opportunities and market expansions.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 8–10 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing operations, project management, and/or technical sales.
  • At least 3 years of leadership or people management experience.
  • Strong understanding of industrial environments and engineering systems.
  • Background in business development, technical estimating, or client service.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and CRM software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
