Work Hours:
Monday to Friday. Overnight travel required for monthly out-of-town stays. 

Location:
Prefer candidates near the Charlotte, NC area. Relocation assistance available.

Compensation:

General Manager Job Summary:

Summit Drilling is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented General Manager to lead our Greater Charlotte, NC area operations. This role will oversee all aspects of facility performance, focusing on safety, environmental compliance, customer relations, and financial accountability. With 7+ years in construction management or field services, ideally in environmental drilling or remediation, the ideal candidate will bring proven leadership skills and the ability to drive team success.

 

General Manager Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all location operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety, environmental, and customer standards
  • Manage facility readiness, including equipment maintenance, fleet management, and inventory control
  • Maintain up-to-date licensing, health and safety, and location-specific permitting
  • Oversee schedule integration, resolve conflicts, and ensure project execution meets company goals
  • Track monthly operating expenses and job costing, handle invoicing, AR/AP, estimating, and purchasing
  • Report on KPIs, work-in-process, and overall financial performance monthly
  • Lead hiring, employee performance management, and any necessary disciplinary actions

 

General Manager Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in construction management or field services, with environmental drilling or remediation experience required
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage business unit financials and team development
  • Collaborative leader with a self-starter attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with executives, clients, and field staff
